Huangmei Opera was originally called "Huangmei tunes" or "tea-picking opera," and it combines singing and narration to tell stories in a local dialect.
This folk opera originated at the end of the 18th century and Anqing city in southwest Anhui is considered the birthplace of this opera style.
CRI Wang Lei takes us on a journey to experience this beautiful art form.

黃梅戲最初也被稱為“黃梅調(diào)”或“采茶戲”,她以當(dāng)?shù)?方言的獨特表現(xiàn)形式，結(jié)合了唱歌曲和敘述的不同方式表達出各種不同的精彩故事。
這個民間歌劇起源于十八世紀(jì)末期，坐落于安徽省西南部的安慶市，被認為是這種獨特魅力歌劇風(fēng)格--黃梅戲的發(fā)源地。
中國國際廣播王磊將帶領(lǐng)我們體驗一下這個美妙精彩獨特的藝術(shù)形式。

The Yangtze River is the longest river in Asia. The section of the Yangtze River in Anhui Province is also called the Wan River. For centuries, the locals have been gifted singers of Huangmei Opera. Today, the country style musical form has become symbolic of Anhui Province.

長江是亞洲最長的河流。那么位于安徽省境內(nèi)的長江也同時被叫做皖江。幾個世紀(jì)以來,當(dāng)?shù)匾恢辈粩喑霈F(xiàn) 很多有天賦的黃梅調(diào) 唱將。今天,這種鄉(xiāng)村風(fēng)格的獨特音樂形式已經(jīng)成為安徽省的象征之一.

In 2006, Huangmei opera was listed among the national intangible cultural heritage assets of China under the joint credit of Anqing in Anhui Province and Huangmei in Hubei Province. And a small group of people believed that it was named for Huangmei County in Hubei Province. As Ding Pusheng, vice president of Anhui Provincial Huangmei Opera House tells us:

"Part of the opera was evolved from the tea picking tunes in Huangmei County Hubei Province in the very first beginning. The flood victims spread it around neighboring areas in Anhui and Hubei. Based on their ballads, the Anhui peasants developed it into today's Huangmei Opera. "

2006年,黃梅調(diào) 在安徽省安慶市和湖北省黃梅縣的擁護申請下，成功列入國家非物質(zhì)文化遺產(chǎn)。同時也有一小部分人認為,它是由湖北省黃梅縣命名而來。Ding Pusheng,安徽省省黃梅戲歌劇院的副主席告訴我們:
“黃梅戲在最開始的時候有部分由黃梅的采茶調(diào)演變而來。當(dāng)時自然災(zāi)害，洪水在安徽和湖北交界處時有發(fā)生，而民眾則在交界處躲避災(zāi)害，同時習(xí)俗和文化也彼此影響分享和傳播。最終由位于安徽境內(nèi)的民眾在基于他們共有的獨特歌謠曲賦的基礎(chǔ)上,傳承發(fā)展發(fā)揚成為了今天的黃梅調(diào)�！�

This is "Hit the Pig Fodder" by late opera singer Yan Fengying. The performance in Shanghai got a favorable review in 1952. After watching this performance, He Luting, a famed musician said he "could smell the fragrance of the country earth and the mountain flowers."

您剛才聽到的是由黃梅戲演唱者嚴(yán)鳳英唱的《打豬草》，1952年，該表演在上海獲得各方廣泛好評。

Shi Bailin is a well-known composer. He tells us that compared to large opera productions, mini-operas are ever more popular.
"Mini-operas usually have only 2 or 3 roles. In its early stages, all the melodies derived from folk songs. There are about 100 such melodies which are all called Huaqiang Flowery Tune in Huangmei Opera. "

Shi Bailin是一位著名的編曲作曲家，他說：和大型的戲曲相比，迷你戲曲往往更流行。
迷你戲曲一般有2個或3個角色組成。在最開始階段，所有的旋律都是從朗朗上口的民歌中演繹而來，在黃梅戲里面，有大約100多種叫做花腔的美妙旋律.

Talking about the characteristics of the Huangmei Opera, Pan Qicai, a famous Huangmei Opera artist, says:
"I summarize it in four sentences. The lyrics are vivid and popular. The music is beautiful and smooth. The repertoire is rich and varied. The performance includes singing and dancing. Especially the lyrics and the music or tunes, have strong local characteristics and artistic appeal."
說道黃梅戲的特點，Pan Qicai,著名的黃梅戲藝術(shù)家說：概括起來可以用四句話：
1：作詞活潑生動，通俗流行
2：樂曲抒情美妙
3：劇目題材豐富多樣
4：唱，跳，說結(jié)合
尤其是詞曲，帶有強烈的地方特色和濃厚的藝術(shù)感染力

Among all the famous stars of the opera, the most well-known one is Yan Fengying. She was born in Anqing and made her successful debut performance there in 1945. Audiences were madly in love with this beautiful girl with an amazing voice.

Years later, Yan played the leading role in the first Huangmei Opera Film "Husband and Wife Admiring the Lanterns." (夫妻觀燈)The 7-minute long film was released nationwide.

The opera not only became popular all over China. In 1957,the musical film "Heavenly Match" was shown at a film festival in Finland. Queen Elizabeth of England(女皇伊麗莎白) was very interested also in the story about the marriage between a fairy maid in heaven and a man on earth.

While "The Heavenly Match"(牛郎織女？) gained great success, Run Run Shaw(邵逸夫), the head of the Shaw Brothers Hong Kong Ltd film company, decided to produce a film adaptation of the Huangmei Opera "Butterfly Lovers."(梁山伯與祝英臺) Since there were no professional Huangmei Opera singers in Hong Kong, director Li Hanxiang almost copied all the music and tunes from "The Heavenly Match" directly except for the tempo.

When it was released in Taiwan, the film set a record of 930 screenings in 162 days, and 90 percent of Taipei residents watched the movie. Actress Ling Bo's interpretation of the role of the young scholar in the film made her extremely popular in Taiwan.

"Almost all the record stores in Taipei were playing its soundtrack. An elderly woman watched the film more than 100 times. She had my photo in her bag when she went out. Almost all the Taiwan people could sing the songs in the film."

The film also touched a little boy deeply. Thirty eight years later, the boy named Ang Lee became a famous Oscar-winning director. He told "New York Times" that he used many techniques he had learned from that film when shooting the film "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon."

After the film was being re-screened, a 10-year-old girl won the first place for singing the film's theme song at a Taiwan singing contest. She was Teresa Teng. Then she became a superstar in Taiwan, the Chinese mainland and throughout Southeast Asia.
